$370,000 grant received from the Self Family Foundation
The Riley Institute at Furman University has been awarded a $370,000 grant from the Self Family Foundation of Greenwood to study the impact of Montessori education on public schools in South Carolina.
The grant will be used by the Riley Institute’s Center for Education Policy and Leadership to conduct a five-year, comprehensive research study aimed at developing a full understanding of how public school Montessori programs impact a range of education stakeholders in the state.
Researchers will examine the impacts of the Montessori program on student achievement, discipline issues, progression, and affective learning outcomes. The study will also look at how Montessori impacts learning and teaching, and the level of parental satisfaction with Montessori programming. To read the entire press release, click here.
